Buckskinner Camps

Originals at Camp Appanoose, the Buckskinner Camps have offered “old west” styled fun in the out of doors since our beginning in 1989. After a dozen years of lodging in authentic tipis, Buckskinner camps have graduated to the comforts of our “modern” Conestoga styled covered wagon sleepers. In the interest of authenticity, we were not sure whether the early settlers used incandescent or florescent lighting in their wagons. We chose florescent. The comfortable mattresses and fans, however, are surely authentic. Joking aside, we are certain that your time in a Buckskinner Camp will be remembered for many seasons to come.

When you come to camp, you will become a member of a small group. Your counselor will give direction as you participate in a wide variety of activities. You will be challenged in many ways. Challenge will stretch you and through it you will grow as a person. New friends, lots of fun, great food, and an opportunity to grow in your relationship with God will make Buckskinner Camp the highlight of your summer.
