Adventure With God/Aventura Con Dios
“A Week Of Adventure With God” is a classic camp experience at Camp Appanoose for fourth through eighth graders.
Specially designed to challenge and broaden the horizons of young persons with urban roots. Camp activities may include group games, kayaking, hayrack rides, swimming archery, horseback riding, canoeing and so much more. Bridging the transition to adolescence, this camp will challenge participants in primary areas of life:
- Socially – camp is a great place to connect with friends and to make new friends under the mentorship of a trained counselor. Sharing activities, meals, and lodging for a week with a small group of other campers is a very positive growing experience. The week concludes with a camp wide game of Capture The Flag for an exciting team challenge.
- Physically – Active programming, plenty of great food, and a peaceful night of sleep punctuated by night sounds, creates an environment where the challenge of much physical activity is both fun and invigorating. Whether it is a swim at the beach, a game of horseshoes, a little softball, a hike in the woods, or a round of disc golf, participants will finish the day with a sense of accomplishment.
- Intellectually – Numerous new, sometimes even first time, experiences at camp are educational and skill enhancing. Campers often leave camp with many new ideas and an enthusiasm for life.
- Spiritually – At the heart of the camp’s purpose is a commitment to introduce the next generation to Christ. A dramatic Bible story each morning leads into an intensive and interactive small group Bible study led by the counselors. Spiritual principles are integrated throughout the day and evening chapels brings Biblical truths to a point of challenge for each participant.
All sessions are conducted in English, but bilingual staff will be available throughout the camp week.
