Board Members

All members of the Board of Directors confess their personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, are in agreement with the Biblical Foundations of this agency, and are financial supporters of Appanoose Ministries, Inc. Board members normally serve three year terms and meet at least four times per year. Each board member is actively involved in a Biblically centered church in his or her locality.

Dell Collins
Before his retirement, Dell served as Director of Facilities at Vermeer Manufacturing in Pella, Iowa. He holds a BSCE degree from California State University, Long Beach and an MS in construction management from Stanford University. Currently, Dell works with various areas of accounting and financial oversite for Appanoose Ministries. As an aside, he leads his five siblings each week in a zoom Bible study. Dell and his wife, Julie, have two grown daughters.

Jim Corbett
Originally from Urbandale, Iowa, Jim is a graduate of Iowa State University with a degree in engineering. Along with his wife, Linda, he is parent to two adult children, one of whom, Allison, served on camp staff. With a rich background in industry, nuclear power, and instrumentation, Jim has a great desire to serve in carrying forward the work of Christ. He currently serves as Director of Facilities at the Pella Regional Health Center.  

David Jewell
From Mount Pleasant, Iowa, David is the owner and operator of Prescription Feeds in Crawfordsville, Iowa. His company produces and markets medicated livestock feeds. He has been active in his local church, teaching in various youth programs as well as adult Bible Studies.

Lisa Jewell
With her husband, David, Lisa considers her greatest accomplishment in life to be the raising of three great kids, each married and with children of their own. After receiving training in nursing, Lisa started a consignment store which she ran for ten years before successfully selling it and moving on to manage rental properties in Mount Pleasant and Iowa City. Several years ago Lisa was involved in the startup and organization of Celebrate Recovery in Mount Pleasant where she continues to assist in the teaching.

Pat Amsden, Executive Director
Since its inception, Pat has been Director of Appanoose Ministries. He has served as a chaplain in the Los Angeles Probation Department, and pastor of several congregations in Iowa. He develops most of the Bible Curriculum for the programs of Camp Appanoose. Two grown sons and a daughter-in-law complete his family.
