To Camp or Not to Camp
For most Americans, who have never lived through a time of global pandemic, so much of life over the past few months has been a journey through uncharted territory.
Early on, some suggested that it would likely be impossible to even have a camp program this year.
We, however, kept our original starting date in view, always with the realization that circumstances surrounding the ministry at this time, were like an ever changing mobile, with different perspectives continually coming into focus.
With the end of May date in mind, we found that out-of-state summer staff who flew in to Iowa would need to quarantine for two weeks including anyone driving to get staff. So many things, even at this time are unknown. We do know that God is sovereign and purposeful in all He does. None of His children are in this alone!
After much consideration on the part of the Board of Appanoose Ministries, it has been determined that a revised schedule is in order for the summer of 2020. It will be as follows:
May 27th – Out of state summer staff will need to arrive to begin a two week quarantine.
June 11th– June 20th – Leadership Training Camps I and II will be held. In state summer staff will arrive on June 11.
June 21st– 24th – Cowboy Campers
June 21st– 27th – Buckskinner Camps I and II, and Horse Camp I will be held. ·
- Day camp options will be offered for all camp weeks through the 17th of July or until the beginning of Extreme Sport Camp.
- Rocky High Camps will be held as scheduled.
- Genesis Family Camps will both be cancelled for 2020.
These changes will affect a number of persons in various ways. If you have any specific questions, please call Cynthia at the camp office –641.649.2491, or Pastor Pat at 641-895-0295.
